From the 6th edition Practical Handbook of Industrial Traffic Management  Leon Wm. Morse  The Traffic Services Corporation  1980  page 2

”  An industrial traffic department, given sufficient authority and latitude with which to carry out its ideas, can guarantee the ultimate in value for every dollar paid out for transportation and increase the profit picture of the corporation.”

Written 33 years ago this still rings true today. Achieving the lowest total landed cost while balancing cost, service, and  carrier capacity is many times lost in the “fog “of RFP over analysis by shippers.

Would like to hear your thoughts.
